 FM Rensie

My name is Ondrej but I use the pseudonym FM Rensie within the Football Manager universe. I’m 37 years old, I’m from the Czech Republic and I’m a father of two boys.

My CM/FM history is quite long, the same as my community involvement, mainly within the Czech Republic until 2015. That was the year when I decided to start writing in English, in a different language than my native one. It helped me a lot during the last few years in terms of writing and reading.

And most importantly, I can say I found a couple of great friends during these years despite the fact we didn’t meet each other personally. That’s also one of the main reasons why I’m here at CoffeehouseFM because it’s a great place to be with friends who love the same thing.

You can follow me on Twitter or in Football Manager Slack – #fmrensie channel.

FM23 - VVV-Venlo

I decided ahead of the Football Manager 2023 the main point of the save would be to challenge myself tactically while using one central defender no matter the nation or club I will play in/with. I decided to play in the Netherlands starting in the 2nd tier with the VVV-Venlo. A couple of reasons are mentioned in the opening part.

Set Pieces

Posts about one of my favourite parts of the Football Manager and the real life football.

Tactics

Same as I moved the save summaries to the CoffeehouseFM from my website, I decided to move the selection of my tactical posts from the previous Football Manager editions. I’m proud of some and I thought at least five of them can be here too. Before I will write some new…

FM Saves Summary

I started writing in English, not my native language, back in 2015 when my main save within the Football Manager 2015 was with the Scottish club Spartans FC. The previous years playing FM and writing about it on my own blog/website took me to different countries. All my saves usually end with the post in which I try to write about the most important things in terms of the club or players’ development. You can read all these save summaries if you are interested. It’s perfect nostalgia and some kind of therapy for me personally.

FM22 - Warta Poznan

The Football Manager 2022 save in Poland with one of the biggest outsiders of the 2021/2022 top tier (Ekstraklasa) season including the idea with Twin Cities/Towns idea in terms of setting affiliates clubs based on the real-life connections between Poznan and other towns around the world and in-game reputation.

FM21 - GAIS

One of the reasons why I decided to go to Sweden within FM21 was my short spell with FM16 back in October 2020 during the FM lull. I installed the game again, I found the old save with AB Copenhagen and played several matches and roam around the save. The FM16 itself was a very good edition and I remember I really enjoyed the save in Denmark. On the other hand, I played the game differently in some ways. But it helped me to realise why is Sweden (or Scandinavia itself) good for my save:

The possibility to build the club as I like + the possibility to develop young players + the possibility to compete about trophies in the future + the possibility to create own scouting network within the sub-continent (read Scandinavia) + the possibility to fill the national team with (some) players.

Other

If there are some posts unclassifiable to the categories above, you will find these posts in this other category. I moved posts from my old website here because I like these posts. The one about the player development (successful but also the one about the unsuccessful one) back in FM20, the posts about shortcuts or squad numbers and more.
